Monthly Update - September 2019

Making a difference update, from the recovery field – September 2019 edition… Below are some bullet points of the highlights that happened in the Life Issues ministry over the last month:

· I worked with the Public Defender’s Office again earlier this month and drove one of their clients from the Cass County Jail to the Salvation Army on 9-4. I got to witness to this man in route and shared my testimony, and upon arrival there, he prayed and asked Jesus into his heart, hallelujah!

· Life Issues helped a man and his wife with their electric bill in early September!

· We helped distribute some furniture on 9-12.

· We wrote a couple of reference letters to assist a lady with getting a job on 9-11.

· Brian and Angie joined HBF on 9-15, see attached pic!

· We gave a lady emergency housing on 9-21.

· We purchased some food for our food pantry in Sept. and also gave away 3-4 boxes of it.

· We took another man to the Salvation Army on 9-25 for the Public Defender’s Office.

· HBF had its 10 annual Bible conference from 9-22 thru 9-25, in which we assembled and shipped over 9,000 Bible to 4-5 different places around the world. It was sweet to me to see several of our folks helping with the assembly and others helping in the kitchen and with clean-up, etc. “This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.” Psalm 118:23

· We teamed up with HBF to help a lady with her electric bill on 9-25

· Some of our students also attend AA and / or NA meetings, and recently one of our folks got his 60 days / 2-month coin, see attach pic and rejoice with us!

· We sent a couple of Bibles to inmates in prison this month, along with a letter!

· One of our faithful lady’s got sole custody of her kids on 9-27, so we’re real proud of her!

· Two more folks prayed to be saved after hearing the Parrott’s testimony on 9-27!!!

· Our leaders, Bill , daughter was homecoming queen in Harrisonville

· We’re working on Recovery Walk / Run video, and will have it for the next update…

Those of you who know me understand that I consider our students like unto my spiritual children, and in 3 John 1:4 the Apostle John says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” I also rejoice to hear when our students are doing well, and I’ve had 3 different former students / people that we’ve helped, call me recently and communicate that they’re doing well. One’s in Arizona with his sister, staying clean; another’s on the east coast and living for the Lord and called just to thank me. One man that I discipled over 15 years ago, seems to have just now had a light come on, and called to communicate that he’s purposing in his heart to live for Christ!
It’s been said that we should never be in ministry for the income, but rather for the outcome, and God is allowing me to see glimpses of the outcome, and for that I’m thankful and motivated to keep pressing “toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Php. 3:14

Sincerely, Steve Fleshman – Life Issues pastor and founder, Proverbs 4:23…
